Mr. John Alley

Mr. John Alley earned his Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Music from James Madison University. Before his arrival at Hunter, he taught at Dominion Christian School (Oakton, VA), Veritas School, and the Benedictine Schools of Richmond, teaching on a variety of subject matters, including History, Literature, Latin, Logic, and Sociology. Additionally, John has coached Cross Country and Track & Field at a variety of schools in the Richmond area throughout his career. 

As an avid student of history, Mr. Alley enjoys getting students to the point where they are able to make connections not only between classes they are taking, but between what they are discussing in the classroom and how to live their lives. John and his wife, Kim, have a daughter, Caroline, and a son, Charlie, and a large, precocious cat named Cardinal Richelieu. In his spare time, John enjoys spending time with his family, running/walking, and following his favorite sports teams, specifically JMU, Texas A&M, the New York Giants, and Liverpool F.C.
