Miss Kate Carithers earned a Bachelor of Science from Bob Jones University magna cum laude with a concentration in piano. Upon moving back to Richmond, she started her private piano studio and began her classroom teaching career as a long-term music substitute at The Hunter School. In addition to teaching music, Kate is a faculty member at West End Academy of Dance as a ballet teacher and has taught dance at several other schools in the community.

Kate loves the enthusiasm young children have for learning. Sharing her passion for music with so many students is such a gift. She loves showing her students how music can create powerful connections to every area of life. When Kate isn’t teaching, she loves spending time with her family and friends, reading a new book, and eating sweet treats.
