Miss Leslie van den Berg received a B.S. in Child Development and K-6 Teaching Licensure from Meredith College in 2005. She taught first grade for five years in North Carolina, during which time she earned National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification as an early childhood generalist. In 2010, combining her passions for teaching and missions, Leslie moved to China to teach first grade for three years at Concordia International School Shanghai, followed by teaching kindergarten at Morrison Academy in Taiwan for two years, before returning to Concordia Shanghai to teach first grade for three more years. Leslie joined HCCS in 2020 to teach first grade. She loves the enthusiasm for learning that first graders have, seeing their tremendous growth, and helping them to grow in their knowledge of and faith in Jesus. In her spare time, Leslie can be found serving and worshipping at church, teaching ballet, taking an exercise class, eating ice cream, scrapbooking, relaxing at the beach, reading, or spending time with friends and family.
